UNITED NATIONS EXAMINING PHYSICIAN

Expressions of interest are invited from medical practitioners in Venice and the surrounding area who would like to be considered for appointment as a United Nations (UN) Examining Physician.

UN Examining Physicians are appointed by the United Nations Medical Service in New York and their services are used by the United Nations, its Funds and Programs (UNDP, UNFPA, UNOPS, and UNICEF) and all its Specialized Agencies.

The main functions of a UN Examining Physician are to perform pre-employment medical examinations, periodic medical examinations, exit medical examinations, and to provide assistance with regard to medical evacuations. UN Examining Physicians are not given any formal contract and the fees they charge are expected to be customary and reasonable.

Two UN offices in Venice (UNESCO and WHO) comprise close to 50 staff members and are seeking to appoint three UN Examining Physicians for the area to provide services to local and visiting UN staff.

Expressions of interest and any inquiries can be addressed to Valerie Cogan, World Health Organization, European Office for Investment for Health and Development by email at vco@ihd.euro.who.int
Applicants must be fluent in English and will be required to complete a curriculum vitae form that will be supplied upon request.
